Our Costs
Family Mediation
The MIAM - Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting is charged at £100 for each separate assessment meeting and £100 each if you choose a joint MIAM meeting.
Thereafter the fees for each mediation session are:
£150 per hour if you earn £50,000 or less per annum;
£200 per hour if you earn between £50,000 - £100,000 per annum;
£250 per hour if you earn over £100,000 per annum
Each mediation session generally lasts 1 1/2 hours in property and finance cases and 1 hour for child arrangements and you each pay for the costs of each session.
The process can take 2 or 3 sessions or more.
During property and finance mediation the aim is to complete two documents - the Open Financial Statement and the Memorandum of Understanding. You will each pay for the drafting of each of these documents. The charge for these documents is the agreed hourly rate for the mediation sessions, it can take between 2hrs and 5hrs to draft each document depending on the complexity of your case.
Depending on the nature of the family mediation there may be an increase in fees if your case needs to be co-mediated or the issues are particularly complex. We would discuss this at the MIAM.
